Developers Haven’t Used the Full Potential of the 3D on the 3DS?

retweet Developers Havent Used the Full Potential of the 3D on the 3DS?

Shigeru Miyamoto talked with Mercury News and he had this to say about the 3D effect on the Nintendo 3DS:

When it comes to the 3D effect itself — or the surprise factor for people to be able to say, “Wow, this 3D!” — I think the mission has already been completed sufficiently. But when it comes to how the 3D effect can be used for the sake of the game play without distracting people’s attention too much, I do not think that developers have done a sufficient job yet. Even with “Super Mario 3DLand,” I think we were able to attain just about 50 percent of the entire goal we really have to achieve. So there’s much more room for us to be able to improve.

So, Miyamoto says that Super Mario 3D Land only used 50 percent of what the 3D effect can do to make the gameplay better. Show me what can be done with the 3D effect Nintendo to impact the gameplay 100 percent? I would like to see what Nintendo will come up with to reach the 100 percent mark of the 3D affecting the gameplay for the better.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 Will Not Be On the Wii

retweet Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 Will Not Be On the Wii

So, if you were hoping that the next installment of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 would be coming out for the Wii, well you will be disappointed. Ken Balough, who is the brand manager, had this to say:

“…Episode II unfortunately will not be coming to the Wii – for reasons most people have probably guessed, but that doesn’t mean the SEGA isn’t supporting Nintendo platforms, we have a very strong partnership and will continue to do so.”

So there you go. It is officially not coming out for the Wii, but you will be able to find it on other platforms like the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The WiiWare’s file sizes has a limit of 40MB and that seems to be the reason the game is not coming out on WiiWare. So, there you go Nintendo fans. You will not be seeing the next episode on your Wii’s.

Nintendo Is Creating An App Store On The Wii U?

retweet Nintendo Is Creating An App Store On The Wii U?

So, here is a rumor about the Nintendo Wii U. The Daily made a statement that Nintendo is creating an app store on the Wii U, but this is not like the one on the 3DS. Notice what is said at The Daily:

Wii U owners will be able to use apps that operate on the Wii U itself, such as MLB.TV, and others that run independently on the Wii U’s controller. Given its tablet-like design and 6.2-inch screen, it’s not hard to imagine being able to check email, browse the Web, post to social networks and even get some gaming in

- The Daily’s Matt Hickey

So yeah, The Daily is saying you will be able to use apps like MLB.TV and others besides just downloaded games. Is Nintendo trying an app store like Apple has? Don’t believe this just yet, because Nintendo has not confirmed it. Nintendo does want to keep the Wii U under wraps until later, so they probably won’t confess that they are making this. 3ds photo contests 300x206 Photo Contests In Nintendo 3DS In Japan Starting January 18th

This is a neat concept that is going to be going on in Japan starting January 18th. Starting from this date, Nintendo will be holding photography contests. I don’t know how many contest there are going to be though. Japanese 3DS owners will be able to submit photos that they take on their 3DS to the contest website here. Celebrities will be picking photos that people uploaded and choose the winners. I don’t know how many winners are in each contest that is hosted. Maybe a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place? The winners will be given prizes for winning. It would be nice if this type of concept was not just isolated with Japan. What type of prizes do you think they will receive? eShop cards or something else?
