Looks like Pit is getting people to buy a Nintendo 3DS in Japan. After the release of Kid Icarus: Uprising in Japan, the sales of the Nintendo 3DS increased by 50%. The week before the release, the 3DS sold 64,017. After it was released the 3DS sold 94,011. This spike in Nintendo 3DS sells could of been from the release of Kid Icarus: Uprising in Japan. Kid Icarus was even leading first place in software sales.
You may be wondering “What”? In the latest part to the Iwata Asks for Kid Icarus: Uprising, Masahiro Sakurai said this:
At first we didn’t have the Nintendo 3DS development kit, so we started making it on a PC. Oh, and for a while we were using a Wii to make it! (laughs)
That is how long Kid Icarus: Uprising was in development. They started working on this game before there were development kits for the Nintendo 3DS. They improvised and started making the game on PC and Wii before the dev kits came.
It has been 25 years since Pit’s first outing in the original Kid Icarus for the Nintendo Entertainment System, but how does the third entry in the series fare? Continue reading
Nintendo of Europe has provided this weapons infographic for Kid Icarus: Uprising. It gives information about different weapons from all the different classes of weapons. This game has a nice weapons system. It allows you to fuse weapons together and make better ones.
Looks like Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 is heading to the Virtual Console on the Nintendo 3DS in North America sometime in the future. This photo is from the recent issue of Nintendo Power and you can see in the Table of Contents that it lists Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. Maybe on the page in Nintendo Power it shows the release date of it, but I don’t know.
There is a rumor that Wii U news will start coming out starting on March 26th. This means that we might be getting some information from third-party developers about what they are doing with the Wii U. Maybe they will talk about games they are making. Don’t expect anything to come from Nintendo though, but wait for E3 for them to talk about what they are serving up.
Gamestop is going to start selling download codes for 3D Classics Kid Icarus. If you didn’t already receive 3D Classics Kid Icarus from pre-ordering Kid Icarus: Uprising, sometime in the future you will be able to purchase a download code for this game. Looks like the game is going to set you back $5.99. There is no release date listed, so I don’t know when it comes out to the public in North America.
