Satoru Iwata announced at a shareholders meeting that Nintendo doesn’t have any plans to release additional models of the Nintendo 3DS in the near future. Iwata feels that consumers could become confused if there are too many different types of models out on the market. That doesn’t mean we won’t see any more 3DS models later down the line, but just not in the near future. I mean the Nintendo DS had the DS Lite, DSi, and DSi XL.
