Nintendo of Japan had a short Nintendo Direct presentation showcasing the first round of Coin Rush DLC that will be supported in New Super Mario Bros. 2. This first round of DLC will feature 3 packs of levels. The first pack is Go! Go! Gold Mario that will feature 3 levels and allow you to reach 30,000 coins. The second pack is Challenge the Record Pack A. Nintendo will be featuring those who get a top worldwide score on the official New Super Mario Bros. 2 website. The third pack is Survival Panic Pack that will feature hard levels.
To be able to purchase the DLC you must read a Spotpass message and then a Shop button will appear on the bottom of the Coin Rush Mode menu that will take you to the DLC.
Each pack will feature 3 levels and they will be released on October 2, 2012 in Japan for 200 yen for each pack.
The Spotpass message will appear sometime during the mid-day of October 2. More DLC is scheduled to be released at the end of October and at the end of November.
