It has been revealed that their are going to be new Nintendo Direct presentations tomorrow, February 14th, for North America and Europe. The North American Nintendo Direct will start at 6 AM PST/9 PM ET and will go over upcoming Nintendo 3DS and Wii U games. The European presentation will be at 2 PM UK Time and will be hosted by Satoru Iwata and Shibata. It seems that the European presentation is just going to focus on 3DS games.
A new Chotto Nintendo Direct presentation was released for Japan that deals with Nintendo Wii U owners and Club Nintendo. If people in Japan register Wii U games(retail/digital) on Club Nintendo they get 1 chance to win 1 free year of the Wii Karaoke U service. There will be 1,000 winners for this contest. Anyone who enters though will receive 24 hours of free Wii Karaoke U service.
It has been revealed that a new Nintendo Direct presentation will be held on January 23rd in Japan, North America, and Europe. The presentation will start at 9 AM East Coast/6 AM Pacific Coast time and will focus on the Wii U. Satoru Iwata will be presenting all three of the presentations so they might all be the same. Here is what Satoru Iwata had to say about the Nintendo Direct:
“This time, the plan is a bit different from a regular Direct, in that I’ll be talking about what kind of Wii U titles and services Nintendo is developing.”
I guess we will be hearing about some first party titles for the Nintendo Wii U. Maybe more details for Pikmin 3?
There is a rumor coming from an anonymous source that has gotten Pokemon information right in the past is saying that the Nintendo Direct presentation tomorrow will announce Pokemon Rainbow for the Nintendo 3DS along with some sort of Pokemon app for the Wii U. You can read the source’s information in detail below. Doesn’t seem to far fetched. What do you think?
The announcement is, more or less, a love letter to the franchise. It’s being called Pokemon Rainbow, a 3DS game that encompasses the settings and Pokemon from generations 1-4: Red and Blue, Gold and Silver, Ruby and Sapphire, and Diamond and Pearl. You can take my word for it that the graphics are done up very nicely. The perspective is similar to what you’d expect from Pokemon games, but the camera is much more dynamic. The graphical style is characterized by very clean, dark lines. Almost cartoonish, but not quite. Battles look radically different, and move away from the use of pixel art. Though it seems that the interface is still made of pixels. The battle that it shown is between a totally new trainer and a wild Weedle. The trainer uses a Pikachu.
I’m not privy to any story details, as I only know what will be announced tomorrow. The story is concurrent with Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 in terms of timeline. There are over 20 new Pokemon, and two will be revealed tomorrow. One is an evolution of an older Pokemon Eevee, called Draconeon. The other is a totally new Pokemon, called Verbill. It looks like a rodent, much like the Pokemon Patrat, but has a sort of pirate theme going on.
A Wii U app will be launched along with the game, which will be announced tomorrow. However, all that will be said is that the app will be addressed “at a later date”. The logo for the app features a globe with Pikachu, Munna, Treeko, Cyndaquil, and Piplup popping out from various countries.
Nintendo of UK and Nintendo of America have sent out tweets about a Nintendo Direct presentation about Pokemon that will be held January 8th. Satoru Iwata will deliver this 10 minute long presentation at 6 AM EST, 3 AM PT, and 12 Noon CET. Could there be an announcement for a Ruby and Sapphire remake or a Pokemon Wii U game?
