John Beck who is the CEO of WayForward has came out in an interview and said this:

“When you have certain content that is available exclusively on dedicated gaming devices, it really helps to set that content apart. The eShop will be a major part of our strategy for handheld games going forward.” -WayForward CEO John Beck

WayForward are the ones who created Mighty Switch Force on the eShop for the Nintendo 3DS. Expect more titles in the future from WayForward, since the eShop is one of their top priorities and has a significant impact in their “strategy.” Maybe another Mighty Switch Force game?
