At the Gamestop managers’ meeting going on now, the accessory maker PDP supposedly said that their Wii U accessories would be available ahead of the Wii U’s November 18th release date. Supposedly they changed the subject quickly after understanding what they just said. Now we have PDP and Nintendo commenting on this supposed Wii U release date leak:
“At this time we can’t confirm Nintendo’s dates and we don’t know exactly what was heard, but we simply do not know that this point. We are launching accessories, but the date for the accessories doesn’t mean a confirmation on the hardware. If you seek confirmation on the date that is something that is going to need to go specifically though Nintendo, but we can’t confirm or deny dates on any of their hardware.” - PDP community manager Candace Hinton
“We have nothing to announce at this time.” - Nintendo rep
Nintendo has nothing to announce right now and PDP says that they can’t confirm this to be the real release date for the Wii U. November 18th sounds like a good time to release the system, but we will have to wait until September 13th for the Wii U conference in New York City.
